1° GIORNO

1st Day

Arrivo presso Hotel Leon Bianco *** a Pistoia

Visita della città, alla scoperta delle meraviglie storico artistiche: il centro storico con l’imponente Piazza del Duomo, la Cattedrale, il Battistero, Palazzo di Giano, Palazzo del Podestà, la torre campanaria. A pochi passi, Piazza della Sala, ex sede del governo longobardo dove ora si trova il mercato, le botteghe tipiche e il Pozzo del Leoncino. Da vedere anche le importanti Chiese di Pistoia con le facciate in stile romanico; la Basilica della Madonna dell’Umiltà (scoprirete perché si chiama così!) con la cupola del Vasari, (3° per grandezza in Italia e 4 al mondo!) ed inoltre l’Ospedale del Ceppo con il portico ornato dalle ceramiche di Della Robbia.

Il tutto a pochi passi dall’hotel e per la cena: una delle tante trattorie tipiche con ottima cucina toscana e un prezzo vantaggioso!

Visit of the city  to discover the historical artistic marvels : the centre with the famous “Piazza Duomo”, the Cathedral . the Baptistery , “Palazzo Giano”, “Palazzo del Podestà”, the bell tower. A few steps , “Piazza della Sala” , ex seat of  Lombard  government  and nowadays commercial centre of the city with its market of food stuffs, and than the “Pozzo del Leoncino”. To see also the important churches of Pistoia  with theirs fronts in Romanesque style; the “Basilica della Madonna dell’Umiltà”, ( you’ll discover why is called in this way!) with the dome of Vasari (third largest in Italy and fourth in the world)  and moreover, the Hospital , “Ospedale del ceppo” with the porch adorned with the ceramics of Della Robbia.

Everything is nearby the hotel.

For the dinner you can choose between one of the many “trattoria” with good typical Tuscan food . . .

eating well and spending not much!

3° GIORNO

3rd Dy

Mattino: ricca colazione buffet e partenza per Lucca,

Durante il percorso possibilità di effettuare una sosta lungo la “Strada del Vino e dell’Olio” delle colline lucchesi per la visita

Pomeriggio: visita al centro storico di Lucca e ai principali monumenti, come il Duomo di S. Martino, Piazza dell’Anfiteatro, Piazza Napoleone, l’Orto botanico e alcuni dei musei più importanti come Palazzo Mansi e Villa Guinigi.

Passeggiata sulle famosissime mura e scalata alla Torre Guinigi, da cui godersi un magnifico panorama della Piana di Lucca.

Per gli amanti della musica classica, possibilità di assistere ai concerti in programma settimanalmente presso la chiesa di S. Giovanni.

Arrivo all’Hotel GINA *** a Monsagrati (10 km da Lucca, Paese natale di Santa Zita, patrona di Lucca)

Possibilità di cenare presso Ristorante Gina alla carta o con il menù della pensione!

During the trip, there is the possibility to stop along the “Strada del vino e dell’olio” of the hills of Lucca to visit:

Afternoon: visit the historical centre of Lucca and   the mains monuments like the cathedral, Amphitheatre, “Piazza Napoleone”, Botanical garden and some of the most important museums like “Palazzo Mansi” and “Villa Guinigi”.

Promenade on the famous walls, and climb up the  Guinigi tower to admire the city from another point of view.

For the lovers of classic music there is the possibility to listen the concerts inside the church of S. Giovanni.
